There is some good reason for the longevity love of Broccoli Salad. It is simple to make, delicious, can be made ahead of time and is easily customizable to suit your own family’s likes. You can use your own imagination and switch up the ingredients to make this recipe as you mostly like.

Broccoli Salad, Fresh

Ingredients:

Original recipe makes 4 servings
• 2 heads of fresh broccoli florets, uncooked, cut into bite-size pieces 750 g for 2 heads / 350 g florets
• ½ head of medium red onion, thinly sliced 50 g /
• ½ cup of dried cranberry (Craisins) 75 g /
• 2 tbsp. of mayonnaise 60 g /
• 2 tbsp. of 14% sour cream 30 g /
• 1 tsp. of sesame oil 4 g /
• 2 tbsp. white wine vinegar
• 1 tbsp. of white sugar 12 g /
• ½ pound bacon, fried, cool and crumbled (Option) 227 g /
• ¾ cup sliced almonds (Option) 128 g /

Directions:

1. Cut the broccoli into bite-size pieces
2. Slice the onion into thin slices.
For cook dressing:
3. Mix the mayonnaise, sour cream, onion, cranberry, sugar and vinegar together until smooth.
4. Pour over broccoli and mix to coat. The broccoli should looks like slightly covered with mix.
5. Cover and refrigerate, stir occasionally to blend salad and dressing.
6. Let stand in fridge a few hours to overnight.
