Sour taste soup with own flavor took from pickles marinade with dill and garlic.
It could be with meat or without.
Serve with sour cream.

Pickles Soup (Rassolnik)

Ingredients:

• 450 g of meat (beef or pork), cubes 450 g / 1 lbs
• 2 potatoes, cubes 250g / ½ lbs
• ½ carrot big, cubes 100 g /
• 3-4 pickles, cubes 150 g / ½ lbs
• ½ head of onion, chopped 80 g /
• 1 bay leave
• ½ cup of marinade from pickles to taste and flavour
• 1 cup of pearl barley
• Salt to taste
• 1 tbsp. of sour cream to serve

Directions:

For 3 L pot
1. Add 2 L of water
2. Boil meet to tender for 1-1.5 hours (skip this step for vegetarian version)
3. Boil (Add) carrots, potatoes, onion for 20-30 min until potatoes will be tender
4. Add 3-4 pickles, cubes
5. Add ½ cup of marinade from pickles
6. Add 1 bay leave
7. Stew for 10 min medium heat
8. Add 1 cup of pearl barley
10.Simmer it on medium heat for 10-15 Min. until barley will tender
11. Add salt to taste
Serve with 1 tbsp. of sour cream
